My practice currently focuses on the documentation of obsessive thought through intrusive rumination and investigating different communication techniques. The exploration of overlaying these obsessive thought patterns leads the words into an abstract form, therefore removing their legibility and disconnecting their potential. The obliteration of language through consistent repetition is somewhat of a therapeutic practice and one that allows me to seal them in an archived state of neutrality.

In this installation ‘At Heart we are Only an Archive’ the audience is invited to view each independent archived thought pattern.  The work draws on the themes of memory and archiving through intuitive and complex patterns. Repeated patterns reflect particular experiences of mental health in the belief that this use of visual communication can help the viewer share empathy with psychological conditions that usually remain unseen.
